VINES, L’Aveggio Roasteria, and Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts have teamed up to ask the Binghamton creative community: What can you create with one or more burlap coffee bags? Functional items, art pieces, anything you can think up and create in about a month. Other materials may be used, but the coffee bag(s) must be showcased in the piece. More than one submission may be made; multiple items are encouraged. A silent auction will be held to sell the creative items donated for the benefit of VINES. A peoples’ choice favorite item ballot will also be held at the auction for bragging rights. This is your chance to see your work adorn the walls (or floor) of the Brunelli Gallery, see how much it fetches in an auction, and converge in merriment while sampling some of L’Aveggio’s latest irresistible brews. By entering, you will be helping VINES create more community gardens, support educational programming and events for the general public, and the summer youth employment program, which employs local kids at VINES’ urban farm on Tudor St, teaching them job skills, nutrition, gardening, business planning, artistic production, and resume building.
