VINES Binghamton Urban Farm

The Urban Farm was created in 2010 and is located in the heart of Binghamton at 16 Tudor Street in a flood-prone area that was formerly a series of four abandoned houses. The season runs for 20 weeks and vegetables are produced using sustainable, organic growing practices (not officially certified organic due to cost). Together with youth employees and volunteers the Urban Farm grows 7,000 pounds of food for donation and sales each year. There are three share sizes offered from BUF:

  • Mini Share – 3 to 4 different items a week; typically feeds a family of 1-2
  • Single Share – 6 to 8 different items a week; typically feeds a family of 2-3
  • Large Share – 9 to 11 different items a week; typically feeds a family of 4+

North Windsor Berries

North Windsor Berries is located in Windsor, NY, has a season of 18 weeks, and always offers a fruit with their shares. Their produce is grown in raised beds with plastic so they do not have to use herbicides. They practice sustainable growing practices when possible, and use organic sprays when necessary. Their farm also has U-Pick produce! Three share sizes are available:

  • Micro Share – 3 to 4 different items a week; typically feeds a family of 1-2
  • Regular Share – 4 to 5 different items a week; typically feeds a family of 2-3
  • Deluxe Share – 8 to 10 different items a week; typically feeds a family of 3-4

Shared Roots Farm

Shared Roots Farm has been in operation since 2008 and is located in McGraw, NY. Beginning in 2020 they partnered with Main Street Farms out of Cortland which significantly increases their acreage. They are certified organic and their season runs for 20 weeks. Three share options are:

  • Small Share – 6 to 8 different items a week; typically feeds a family of 2-3
  • Full Share – 8 to 10 different items a week; typically feeds a family of 4+
  • Bi-weekly Share – Small Share every other week (runs for 10 weeks)
