Season Extension Workshop with CCE’s Jim Dunn

Want to learn how to grow vegetables into the Fall and early in the spring?  Cornell Cooperative Extension's Jim Dunn will show us techniques to increase your garden's production, including: Selecting cold-hearty vegetable varieties Best cold-season planting times Using row covers, cold frames, and cloches   This workshop is free and open to the public.  A suggested donation of $5-$10 is appreciated.

Seed Saving in the Fall with Lisa Bloodnick

Local farmer and seed saver Lisa Bloodnick will take us on a virtual tour of her seed-saving operation at Bloodnick Family farm.   In this third and final workshop in our partnership with Binghamton University Libraries, participants will learn how to select, collect, and properly store seeds from your favorite vegetables to plant next year. This workshop is FREE and open to the public.  A suggested donation of $5-$10 is appreciated.

  VINES is partnering with Metro Interfaith and the United Way Day of Caring to build a new community garden on the South Side of Binghamton! On Saturday, September 11th, Volunteers will learn how to: Build Raised garden beds Build Wheelchair Accessible Beds Fill beds with compost and soil No experience necessary Tasks available for people of all ages and abilities *Please bring proof of vaccination if you plan to attend without a mask.
