Garden Proposals

As VINES celebrates it’s 10th Anniversary in 2017, we’ve set an ambitious goal to grow our Community Gardens to 20 gardens by 2020!

Beginning Fall 2017 we will have an application process for new site proposals. If you would like to work with VINES to build a new garden in your community, please fill out this form and we will keep you updated on when our application process is open for new projects.

See below for information about new gardens that are in the works to be built this fall. If you are interested in learning more about a specific garden site, please fill out the specific garden site form to be notified of the garden’s progress. If you are interested in viewing our many gardens already in the community, please click here.

About Community Gardens: Garden beds will be rented for a nominal fee, with scholarships available, and free educational training through VINES to learn to grow, care for and harvest your garden bed. We strive to develop and beautify urban sites and empower community members. Proposed garden sites will include community outreach and involvement, per the mission of VINES.

Vestal

Vestal residents came to VINES in the fall hoping to build a community garden on land owned by the town that was previously effected by flooding. Identified by the town, Castle Gardens, and other properties near the Rail Trail are being considered. If you are interested in learning more about the Vestal Project please submit this quick form so we can keep you updated on the project!

NEXT COMMUNITY MEETING is scheduled for Thursday July 27th from 5-6 pm at Vestal Public Library

At this point, we are holding a community meeting to discuss broadly what a community garden is, what and who it brings to a community and what the benefits could be. We are turning to the Vestal community to help identify potential community garden sites in Vestal. Our goal has been and will continue to be working directly with the community to find, and build, a garden that fits the goals and vision of the neighborhood.

This is a working draft and subject to changes.
