Garden Proposal Manual
VINES has compiled a Garden Proposal Manual which outlines the process for submitting a Community Garden Proposal. Please find a downloadable version of our Manual here.
Reviewing the Community Garden Proposal Manual and looking at existing gardens for inspiration is a great first step towards bringing a community garden to your neighborhood.
The Manual includes:
- Information on VINES’ Community Garden history
- Roles of community members
- Project timeline
- Example Budget
- Scoring system that will be used to review all garden proposals.
Submitting a Garden Proposal :
To submit a proposal you must have attended VINES’ Garden Proposal Workshop.

A mandatory portion of the proposal is to complete a budget draft. An example is provided in the Garden Proposal Manual. Please find an editable blank copy above.
Deadlines & Dates :
Mandatory Garden Proposal Workshop – February
This workshop is mandatory and a required step to submitting a VINES Community Garden Proposal.
Community Garden Proposal Due – May
Community Garden Proposal Decisions – June
Community Garden Acceptance Planning Meeting – June/July
Upon proposal review, VINES will schedule a meeting with accepted proposals to discuss the next steps towards building your garden!
