Wellness Wagon is a grocery transportation program that operates in three forms: Limited capacity group rides, personal rides for those with disabilities and/or mobility issues, and fuel cards for those with a vehicle that would like to act as a carpool for those within their social bubble.
Personal grocery trip rides are available up to four times per month for those with disabilities and/or mobility issues. In such instances, pickup/drop-off is available at the rider’s place of residence.
Group rides are available on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday format at 1pm, 12pm, and 11am respectively. Every group ride makes pickups/drop-offs at the Lee Barta Center in Binghamton, NY (108 Liberty Street). On Mondays and Fridays we provide service to Walmart, while Wednesdays are reserved for Weis Markets.
Interested riders are required to contact me and register for a trip at least a day beforehand or they will not be permitted to ride/no trip will be provided.
Eligibility for the service is based upon two criteria: Place of residency and access to a personal vehicle. If you are located outside of Northside Binghamton’s Roosevelt catchment area, you do not qualify for the program. Masks are required for every trip we provide.
