VINES Community Meal


Every 5th Tuesday, VINES & volunteers prepare and serve a community meal at the United Presbyterian Church (42 Chenango St. in Binghamton) . Volunteers work in approximately 4-hour shifts, and should arrive on time and stay through their entire shift. Regardless of shift, all volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, and long hair must be pulled back. Volunteers will receive a brief training at the beginning of their shifts.

The next community meal VINES will host falls on October 29th, 2019. Interested volunteers should RSVP by emailing americorps@vinesgardens.org no later than January 26th. Include your full name, email address, phone number, and the shift you would like to volunteer for. Volunteers who sign up will receive a confirmation email with directions to the church.

Shift 1: 12:30-4:30PM:
Volunteers will prepare, cook, and assemble food for the community meal, set tables, and conduct other dinner preparation activities as assigned by the volunteer coordinator.
Shift 2: 4:30-7:30PM:
Volunteers will serve meals in the dining room, run dishes back to the kitchen, serve beverages, and assist with cleanup.
