Volunteer with VINES

In 2007 VINES was created by a group of dedicated volunteers and continues to thrive with the help of an active volunteer base. We are always seeking a team of motivated long-term volunteers to help with several different projects. If you have a skill or interests not listed in one of our volunteer opportunities, please fill out the volunteer sign-up form and let us know how you would like to help. General Volunteer Opportunities

All interested volunteers are asked to please fill out our sign-up form. In addition, we post on Facebook & Instagram and send notices out through our bi-weekly e–newsletter about volunteer opportunities regularly. Binghamton Urban Farm (BUF) Volunteer Hours: 

What: Weeding, planting, harvesting, washing, packing, & other necessary tasks at BUF

When: April – October, Wednesdays 9am-12pm 

Where: Binghamton Urban Farm (BUF), 16 Tudor Street, Binghamton

Garden Corps: 

What: A team of volunteers working together to accomplish various tasks

When: April – November, various days & times

Where: Our 20+ community gardens throughout the season

Sundays with Cheryl: 

What: Work with master gardener, Cheryl Miller, on beautification and weeding projects

When:  June – September, Sunday mornings from 10am-12pm (2026 schedule in form)

Farm Share Distribution & Home Deliveries: 

What: Distribute weekly Farm Share produce to members at one of our distribution sites or make home deliveries 

When: mid-June through the end of October, Wednesday and/or Thursday afternoons

Where: 14 locations throughout Broome County

Community Garden Lawn Maintenance: 

What & Where: Lawn maintenance at select community gardens 

When: On your schedule throughout the season

Dick Andrus Community Orchard (DACO) Corps:

What:  A team of volunteers working together to accomplish various maintenance tasks at our Dick Andrus Community Orchard 

When: May – October: 1st Saturday (9am-12pm) and 3rd Thursday (5-7pm) monthly

Community Compost Corps:

What: A team of volunteers managing our community composting sites (more information on the registration form

Where: Pilot community compost sites at our community gardens

Community Meals: 

What: Prepare and serve the community meal at the United Presbyterian Church.

When: 5th Tuesdays of a month, 4x annually. 10am-3pm & 3:30-7pm shifts

Where: 42 Chenango Street, Binghamton
