Dividing Perennials in the Fall

Fall is officially here and our gardens are winding down. As plants die back you may be wondering what you can do in your garden to get it ready for next season. This is a wonderful time to divide any perennial flowers and plants that you have to either give to friends and family or replant. It is important to take care of this before we have a hard frost so that the plants can reestablish their root system. Some plants that this works well with are hostas, irises, and daylilies, among others.

You can find a very informative article here about what plants to divide when and a great video here. Enjoy your fall gardening!
