Just a friendly reminder that our Garlic Planting Workshop is happening this Saturday, October 18th. Join the Urban Farm Manager Sean Cummings and participate in the planting of next season’s garlic crop. While there, you’ll learn how to select good quality garlic seed, how to plant it, space it, and mulch it for higher survival rates over winter. We’ll also talk about how garlic varieties are made. There are possibly hundreds of distinct varieties of garlic out there in the world–so why not create your own? Garlic is highly responsive to changes in growing conditions, so with some work and planning, you can start your own unique kind of garlic!
