Growing a Greener Binghamton Together
We are building a citywide composting network designed to turn your food scraps into vibrant, healthy soil for our local gardens. From our centralized hub at the Binghamton Urban Farm to our neighborhood drop-off sites, we’re making it easier than ever to participate.

Are you someone who loves to get their hands dirty? Does turning a compost pile make you excited?
VINES is looking for volunteers to participate in the soon-to-be-unveiled Community Compost program. Compost facilitators will act as leaders, overseeing the composting process at their assigned sites and working with and educating community members. Ready to Lead Our Composting Efforts?

Are you looking to reduce your household waste and support local sustainability? The VINES Community Compost Program offers a convenient way for you to turn your kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich soil.
Who can join: Participation is open to community members, with free access already included for current community garden members as part of their membership.
Where to compost: We offer a central hub at the Binghamton Urban Farm and various decentralized sites located at community gardens throughout the area, including sites in Binghamton and Endwell.
