Vermicomposting is a way of composting that relies on worms’ ability to turn food scraps into nutrient dense plant food! Although it is fairly simple in terms of supplies and method, there are rules to follow for successfully turning kitchen waste into compost!
Kira Hawes of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County prepared a step by step presentation on how to start vermicomposting at home. From how to prepare a repurposed bin into a good home for hungry worms, to harvesting the worm castings that they produce for your garden, you can view her presentation here: https://www.canva.com/design/DAGLO0o1Vp4/6I1XxMyCG5DY6qFovTA05Q/view?utm_content=DAGLO0o1Vp4&utm_campaign=share_your_design&utm_medium=link&utm_source=shareyourdesignpanel
