So, you thought you were done planting, huh? Think again! Many people assume you can’t plant anything past June, but if you have the space, you can continue planting throughout the summer for fall harvests.
Many root crops hold up to the summer heat like carrots, radishes and beets. Seeding more Brassicas like broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower will give you plenty of time to get them in the ground for a fall harvest. It’s also not too late to plant things like tomatoes and peppers for a later harvest. You may also consider seeding more summer squashes: summer squashes are susceptible to many pests like bugs and disease, so planting more will allow you to remove older, sick plants and continue to harvest squash throughout the season.
