VINES is excited to announce that the Urban Farm, a 1/2 acre vegetable garden downtown on four formerly vacant lots, completed its first harvest on Tuesday, June 9. Staff and volunteers harvested boxes full of produce for Binghamton Farm Share so that local families can enjoy fresh food every week this summer. They’re planting more new crops than ever this year – with over 50 varieties of your favorite seasonal veggies! And of course we’re gearing up for July 7th which is the first day of Grow Binghamton, a summer employment program for Binghamton teens looking to gain skills while growing food for their community.
