Composting during the “Cold Months”

As is the case with most gardening activities in our climate, composting takes a bit of a pause for the winter, but it doesn’t have to. From the worms and the bugs that help turn over and break down large particles, to the microbes that facilitate much of the conversion of waste to a usable soil amendment, if given the right environment, even during the winter, they can maintain a level of activity suitable enough for composting.
