Now is as good a time as any to help your garden soil out by amending it properly. If you want to know more specifically what it may need, you can always collect a soil sample and send it to a lab for a fee. We like Cornell’s Lab (costs a little more) or UMASS Lab.
If you just want to do something generally beneficial, add some compost or organic matter. Follow the tips here on what you can do now to improve your soil. Taking some action in the fall will allow time for beneficial microbes to get more established, and more time for rock minerals and organic matter to start breaking down and permeate the soil better.
